Lydia Swift is a Dance Artist and Choreographer based in South East London. She graduated from BA Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban  Conservatoire in 2021 and MA Expanded Dance Practice at London Contemporary Dance School in 2024. Her interdisciplinary practice explores improvisation, phenomenology, unconscious thought, surrealism, and voice work. She embraces uncertainty, using live decision-making and aporia as creative tools. As a librarian and archivist, Lydia brings these sensibilities to the body, exploring how movement captures and preserves experience. Her work invites speculation and honours the traces we leave in space and time.

Her past works include a collaborative commission for the Whitechapel gallery, facilitation on dance films with Webb-Ellis and Lucy Suggate presented at the Jerwood Gallery and Whitstable Biennale,  and site specific collaborations with artist Darren Nixon. She has performed around the UK at venues such as PINK, cafe OTO, The Albany Theatre, The Bonnie Bird Theatre, Bermondsey Project Space, Siobhan Davies Studio and abroad, including in Finland and Northern Ireland.  Lydia is a current member of the Next Artist Collective at Siobhan Davies Dance.
